Boltzmann Machines

Zehra Uslu is working with Restricted Boltzmann Machines stacked into deep, layered architectures.  The resulting computational architectures are being applied to model the distributions of pixel intensities within patches of pixels drawn from images of retinal vasculature. Once trained, the networks can be used for a number of problems in image analysis: automated image segmentation, tracking elongated structures (like blood vessles or axons), and detecting particular anatomical locations.
